Venus was born in Wakefield and has been living in Cumbria since 1988. She has four children and four grandchildren.
She was educated at Wakefield Art College and at Trent University, Nottingham. After working as a Technical Illustrator and full time mother she then went on to teach Art and Screenprinting at Colleges of Further Education in Nottingham. Her most rewarding experience was teaching art to the mentally handicapped.
After moving to Cumbria, Venus concentrated most of her time on working in her studio producing watercolours, oils and acrylics. She also teaches a recreational art class.
She has had several exhibitions in Nottingham, Yorkshire and Cumbria and sells her work through local galleries.
The name Venus comes from her grandmother and, to the relief of her children, has not been inflicted on further generations.
