Ron is largely self-taught in all aspects of art, following completion of a non-vocational art course in the sixties.

Ron qualified as a social worker in the late seventies and worked in mental health. He then qualified as a teacher in Further Education and taught social care and art on a full time basis. He has now retired from full time teaching but teaches part time in schools and colleges.

Ron spends as much time as possible walking and painting in Cumbria. His work is mainly in oil, watercolour and pastel. He holds art workshops and demonstrations in St Helens, Liverpool, Wigan and the Wirral. He also runs painting holidays near Grange-over-Sands on several occasions each year.

Ron is a founder member of his local art club and displays work in St Helens and Cumbria.
