Having served his time as a joiner, Mark has worked for the same local firm for twenty six years. This has given him an understanding of the properties of wood as a building material, but Mark’s horizons were widened with the discovery of wood turning some eight years ago.

In his hobby, Mark likes to experiment with both home grown and exotic timbers from abroad. This gives him a wide variety of woods to create bowls, platters, vases and many other objects of both functional and purely art form. Mark sells through local galleries and aims to produce items of beauty and individuality.

Trees give pleasure to so many with their majesty and presence in life. Mark believes that through wood turning their magnificence can live on and continue to enrich our lives.
